When Should I Get My New License After Recertification?

By Wm. Bruce Clevenger, OSU Extension Educator

Several private pesticide license recertification sessions have been completed in NW Ohio since January. Since the March 31 deadline is quickly approaching, farmers should be double checking to make sure they are scheduled to attend an upcoming recertification session or the correct number of recertification hours were completed and the renewal fee was sent to the Ohio Department of Agriculture. On March 8th, a Defiance County farmer received his renewed license after having attended the Defiance County Recertification session on February 21st. That was a two-week turn around time from the Ohio Dept of Agriculture – Pretty Good!

It is the applicators responsibility to renew the license which involves 3 hours of recertification and paying the administrative fee of $30 to the Ohio Department of Agriculture. Note: $20 paid to OSU Extension of the recertification class is not the license renewal fee.
